Seth and Laura were reunited earlier this month and the flew to Charlotte last Friday to spend some time with us before they left this morning for their honeymoon in Costa Rica (!). Thanks so much to everyone who prayed us and them through their time of separation. Seth seems to be completely whole physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
He has now been promoted to First Lieutenant and is working as an executive officer of his company at Camp Pendleton. We are going out to visit them in San Diego next month.
I am finishing up Old Testament Survey and Cross Cultural Counseling this summer. In my last post I wrote mistakenly (must have been wishful thinking) that I was going to graduate in mere months. B'ah! As if...it's looking like at least 2.5 years. No, we don't have any plans for little Molly's and Alex's any time soon (although we do have a running list of awesome kids names, if needed), needless to say...unless God shows up with that hilarious sense of humor of his, as he likes to do.
I am in my first practicum rotation for school which means that I actually get to start counseling with clients (for free, of course..boo...)! Oh how much I have to learn about how to help people.
Time for more coffee...

*Typed while sipping my first cup of the coffee for the day, so bear that in mind.
Seth is finally out of Iraq and will arrive home in California the first of June. Needless to say, God is faithful.
I am in my second semester of counseling studies at Gordon-Conwell seminary and I absolutely love love love it. I will be finished probably in the Fall of 2007.
My weeks are spent nannying for sydney, lauren, wilkes, annabelle, and reid, but not all at one time. And I am a lay counselor at out local pregnancy resource center, which means I see clients once a week. Scary, eh?
Meanwhile, Alex has gotten into the world of homebrewing. That means at any one time we have mass quantities of really really good beer fermenting in our closets. And, well, mostly we give it away as gifts. He is also playing in a band called The Hinges (he plays keyboard, guitar, some vocals - ie. Cake's "I will survive, CCR's "Fortunate Son") and they are making quite a name for themself in the Charlotte/Raleigh area.
We are playing indoor soccer this spring which is a weekly reminder how out of shape I am, but oh well.
Today, we are singing in my Aunt Ellie's wedding. She is getting married for the first time, and she turns 50 tomorrow!
Cheers!

| (Seth and Laura Nicholson)

Seth, my brother is a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marines. He is on his first Iraq tour of duty and just arrived in one of the most volatile areas of the country. He is actually leading a platoon (30 or so men) into this craziness, so please pray for him.
Pray for incredible wisdom for his commanding officers, as he will be following their orders. Pray for unity within the marines that Seth leads. Pray that God will be B I G in this freakin' conflict. Pray that Seth and Laura will laugh together till they grow old.
Thanks, friends. | | |
| In order to make my new 40-year-old house a wireless "hotspot," compatible with my paradoxically streamlined and sweet-A iBook, what do I purchase? Just a router? What brand and how much are we talkin?
